Ten on the 10th

I am so happy it isn’t raining today for ten on the 10th photos. I was beginning to think it was going to be rainy on the 10th of every month!  So in the monthly tradition of taking ten photos on the 10th day, here are ten photos.  All taken on the iPhone 4. I literally stopped and turned around to get a photo of this dew soaked leaf.   A flower spotted on the way into the Y this morning.   Bags all ready for the Mother’s Day Plant sale at school.  The kids all get a plant to give to their Mama and the opportunity to buy plants and hanging baskets.   We pass this Lilac bush every day and it smells divine! Look at all those teeny tiny flowers.  Beautiful. I was taking a photo for my daily prompt and accidently got my feet and quite liked it!  The effects are provided by Hipstamatic.  New Saltwater sandals!  Love ’em, super comfy.   ‘Stars’  was the ‘photo of the day’.  These are some …

March ten on the tenth.

Raining again for ten on the tenth,  I can’t believe that it has rained on the 10th of each month this year.  I wonder if it will rain on the 10th of every month?  We shall see I am taking all of the photos today on my iPhone 4S and cropping and adding clarity to each in the Camera+ app. I will be consistent in each photo and see which works best by number ten. Today  is Mothering Sunday in the UK, so happy Mother’s Day to all you Mamas! Oh look, it’s raining.  The Rosemary is having a lovely time in the rain. My new read ‘Astrid and Veronika’ by Linda Olsson. As recommended by Pip at Meet me at Mikes.  It is called ‘Let me Sing you Gentle Songs’ in Australia.  I love the cover, which is exactly how I choose books to read!  That and recommendations of course.  What are you reading?  Got a recommendation or a book with a great cover to share? One of the trees in our back garden …

Beady Heart

For the photo a day, today’s was ‘A Favourite Thing’. I took a picture of a beaded heart at its beginning. I love to make jewelry  and it is exciting when someone buys one of my pieces and then I see them wearing it! Today my making focus is all over the place. I am washing, putting pots away, making a coffee, checking Twitter… and on it goes. I do like the whole social media merry-go-round, but boy, sometimes I wonder whether I need to duct tape myself on or just leap off and hope I hit some soft grass. I don’t like to post the same darn thing on every site, because I think that is boring and apparently I like to make more work for myself.  So I flit about on my little iPhone,  posting a photo,  writing a short sentence on a short sentence site,  or messing about with photo finishes so that the aforementioned photo is an interesting one. Then I feel that I really should be making something, because hey, …

Wacky

Happy May Day! Remember dancing round the Maypole, skipping along, avoiding the boys and trying not to tie anyone in a Maypole knot? May is my favourite month, usually warm but not evil and everything is growing and blooming. Counting down to the end of the school year, always seems like a fun thing until about 5 minutes into the first day of the summer! Another of my favourite things is iPhone photo apps and iPhonography. I have a page of photo apps on my phone and love them! From Halftone comic effects to the Snapseed filters. The ones I use most are Instagram because of the on the spot filters and Hipstamatic for its heady array of films and lens options to play with. I am a mite late as it is already May, but I stumbled across  ‘Hipstaday’ today.  It gives you a theme or a film/lens combo to create your ‘photo of the day’. Fun! So, here is today’s picture…. Wacky
