Ten on the 10th

I am so happy it isn’t raining today for ten on the 10th photos. I was beginning to think it was going to be rainy on the 10th of every month!  So in the monthly tradition of taking ten photos on the 10th day, here are ten photos.  All taken on the iPhone 4. I literally stopped and turned around to get a photo of this dew soaked leaf.   A flower spotted on the way into the Y this morning.   Bags all ready for the Mother’s Day Plant sale at school.  The kids all get a plant to give to their Mama and the opportunity to buy plants and hanging baskets.   We pass this Lilac bush every day and it smells divine! Look at all those teeny tiny flowers.  Beautiful. I was taking a photo for my daily prompt and accidently got my feet and quite liked it!  The effects are provided by Hipstamatic.  New Saltwater sandals!  Love ’em, super comfy.   ‘Stars’  was the ‘photo of the day’.  These are some …

Ten on the 10th April 2013

It’s the 10th of April which means it’s going to rain as this is a new rule of Ten on the 10th 2013 apparently.   It has rained on every single 10th this year.  In fairness to the weather, it rained this morning and has stopped now although it is due to rain later.  It also means that I get to take and share ten photos. All of the photos have been taken with my Canon Rebel except the turtle which I snapped with the iPhone.  Messing about was done in Photoshop and Camera+. I took ten photos of the gorgeous tree blossoms on our street in between rain downpours this morning.  The blossoms are so pretty and very short lived.  They will be gone and the trees will be leafy by next week.  I have a love/hate with the blossoms as they are so pretty and photo worthy, but they make me sneeze like a crazy sneezing person! One of the Daffodils peeking up in our garden. This tree looks like it is a …

March ten on the tenth.

Raining again for ten on the tenth,  I can’t believe that it has rained on the 10th of each month this year.  I wonder if it will rain on the 10th of every month?  We shall see I am taking all of the photos today on my iPhone 4S and cropping and adding clarity to each in the Camera+ app. I will be consistent in each photo and see which works best by number ten. Today  is Mothering Sunday in the UK, so happy Mother’s Day to all you Mamas! Oh look, it’s raining.  The Rosemary is having a lovely time in the rain. My new read ‘Astrid and Veronika’ by Linda Olsson. As recommended by Pip at Meet me at Mikes.  It is called ‘Let me Sing you Gentle Songs’ in Australia.  I love the cover, which is exactly how I choose books to read!  That and recommendations of course.  What are you reading?  Got a recommendation or a book with a great cover to share? One of the trees in our back garden …

Ten on Sunday the 10th. February 2013

It is raining today, but getting 10 photos shouldn’t be a problem. This morning started off with a big thunderstorm and lots of rain. I found about 10 pairs of 3D glasses in the drawer, so Bodhi decided to put as many on as would stay! ‘Snack packs’ of Custard Cremes with a cup of tea. My first cookery book ‘My learn to Cook Book’ circa nineteen seventy something. I love the illustrations and 1970’s ingredients like cochineal! Yum, beetles… I remembers making lots of recipes from this book with the cooking cat and dog. A Knicker-bocker Glory was a birthday must. New gym togs is always motivation. I can’t wait for step class tomorrow! A montage for a guest post I wrote today. Link to the post coming this week! Very exciting and quite an honor being allowed to write for someone else’s blog. The boys of the house watched the rugby this morning. When it had stopped raining they went out to play. They came back a bit muddy. Batman looks a bit …

Ten on the 10th. January 2013

I didn’t think I had a snowball’s chance of getting 10 photos today, unless you fancied a wonderland view of rain, damp, then fog and back to rain, then dark. Fear not! I started off with stuff I am reading and stuff I am making, I snapped the melting giant snowball in the back garden and off I went on a photo extravaganza! Here are January’s ten on the 10th. The last of the snow, in a convenient ball. Itsy Bitsy wire hearts all going to grow into earrings. In a vintage Ponds cream jar we found in the woods last year. Check out my Etsy store for the finished product. Bodhi and I are reading ‘Mr Stink’ and I love it as much as he does! I am listening to ‘State of Wonder’ by Ann Pratchett at the minute, ‘The End of your Life Bookclub’ is jostling for next in line with ‘Grace’ by Grace Coddington. I’m reading ‘Mr Penumbra’s 24 hour bookstore’ and enjoying it no end. Good stuff. My Instagram prints stored …

Brain melt and ten on the 10th. December 2012

What a strange day today has been. Too grey to tell what time it is, felt like 4pm all day. Cold to the bone cold, cold legs through jeans, make your eyes run and cheeks freeze cold. A lots to do and nothing done day, my list remains complete with no crossings out. I have done lots I needed to but also not done lots I wanted to. I found a present bought about September, for Christmas. A bargain of bargains. And forgotten. I nearly bought another one!  Maybe being organised for Christmas early is not such a good idea for me!                                                                                                                         I did manage to take ten photos on the 10th though! YMCA for …

Ten on Saturday the tenth!

We are on the way to Pere Marquette state park. I have my real camera as well as my iPhone, and of course a Milky Way/Mars bar. I always remember the pure joy of a Mars bar on hikes when I was a kid! Well, we went the wrong way to the park, but a potentially dangerous situation (wrong directions are never pretty, even when confidently spouted out of a phone which answers back) turned good when we stumbled upon Smartt Field where there is a aviation museum of tiny proportions. The Commemorative Air Force, Missouri Wing is a shambolic looking gathering of hangars with impressive planes, including the B25 Mitchell and the 1945 TBM 3, both WWII planes. Spectacularly exciting for the boys in my life! We toured the small airfield and the men who worked there couldn’t have been happier to answer all and any questions. Saturday 11am, here we were. A happy wrong turn indeed! I think Bodhi has this on his birthday list…. This however, is not on mine, but it …

Ten on the tenth

It is time for ten photos on the tenth day….of the tenth month, I only just realized that! Here are todays comings and goings in my neck of the woods. I made Blueberry muffins for breakfast. No, this is not normal! It is Gary’s birthday today. Unfortunately I didn’t plan well and the muffins were not done in time and everyone had cereal and raced off to school. Bodhi and I walked to school in the chilly sunshine. The trees were luminous in the sunshine. My neighbour has great Halloween decorations including this guy! He is also my ‘photo of the day’ which was emotion – I thought he looked a little fed up! On my street walking home, I spotted lots of leaves with delicate dew on them, so I snapped this one. Home for coffee and a blueberry muffin. I made a little pan of beads to make a knotted necklace. Pretty pinks and greys with a hint of amethyst. I had a request to make a Longhorn choker, so here he is. …

10 on the 10th

Today being the 10th September, I am taking 10 photos through the day and putting them into a post for today. No plans, so we will see what evolves. Noodles left over from take out from Lu Lu’s express for school lunch, in the Thermos. Preparing to pogo to school Pogo’ing to school! Monday morning of cleaning and washing. Just as I get some beads out to make a little something, I get the e mail which derails me for the near future. A message from that one of the boys lost his mum this weekend. He is seven. His mum has gone. Forever. I didn’t know her very well, but I saw and talked to her last week and I can’t get her face out of my mind. A table full and ready to make a something… I made an Ivory and single Red Pearl bracelet and photo’ed it on a vintage Ladybird book. ‘The Ladybird book of Garden Birds’. Vintage Ladybird Books Pablo Photo of the day challenge – day 10, ‘black and …
