Six Word Saturday

I made some ‘no knead’ bread this morning after it had been rising all night, had a slice with Marmite and did a bit of jigsaw puzzle. Our library lends jigsaw puzzles now which is a good thing, except I think we might have done them all by the end of the week! Don’t you love a puzzle? They remind me of my Grandma who always had one on the go and usually with a bazillion pieces.

We went for a walk in the creek this afternoon and we found the usual marble and the more unusual find – a Buzz Lightyear laser gun! It is funny that we almost always find marbles down there, someone years ago must have played lots of marbles and lost them into the creek bed. Toys from across the decades meet for the first time! Happy Saturday x

This afternoon we went to the local library to make new action heroes (and anti heroes as it turned out!) from old figures. After years of telling my kids not to ruin their toys, here we were ripping heads and arms off to our hearts content. Lots of new creatures were created and a ton of fun was had! If you have a Six Word Saturday, feel free to share in comments or on Instagram, tagging me @girlfifteen, so I can see. Have a fab weekend!

There was a garage sale at a local church this morning, so off we went at 7am (yawn). My youngest found some very fabulous cine and regular vintage cameras from around the 1940’s. I wonder if they would still work and if you can get film for them? I picked up a 1930’s ‘Lavender Bath Powder’ tin and some lovely grey pearl buttons for a couple of dollars. It has rained lots here today, but it is still warm so the plants are all growing nicely. I hope you have had a marvellous Saturday and are looking forward to Sunday.

Six Word Saturday

It is serious growing weather here at the minute, rain and warm, I am virtually watching my seedlings grow before my eyes. The arugula/rocket is going bananas which means I will be eating a nice salad with every meal! As I walked to Barre class this morning I stopped to snap the blanket of flowers on the green bridge. Happy Saturday and Happy Mother’s Day for tomorrow to all you Mums!

I am granny square-ing up a storm.  I am not sure how many I will need for a blanket, but I am fairly sure it is more than five!  I have an evil plan to granny square all summer and it will be my ‘on the plane’ activity when we fly over to Cape Cod for our summer holiday.  So, yes, I will be the crazy lady on the plane crocheting pretty squares! Thankfully the rain today was warm, so although the kids playing outside got soaked to the skin, they were not cold. I wonder how long it will take for the shoes to dry!? For this week’s picture, I used Snapseed, Brushstroke and Word Swap apps. Join Six Word Saturday on Instagram if you like, #SixWordSaturday.

I have been a busy bee of late making some lovely balms. Mixing up essential oils is becoming an obsession. I tell you, once, you make a couple of balms which smell amazing, it is hard not to carry on. I am always thinking of new combinations of oils and seeing how they smell. Palmarosa is my current favourite. Despite it’s rose implied name, to me it smells of black tea in a wonderful way. Do you have favourite smells? I have been hand lettering the labels and will most likely carry on, to be honest I am such a duffer on the Photoshop, this way is probably quicker and less stressful! Happy weekend!
