The month of December saw me carving a stamp everyday, something a few months ago I would not have even considered. I love all of my stamps and am so happy with my collection! Each page in my daily Moleskine planner for December has the stamp I made. I am not using a Moleskine for 2019, but I am still arting daily! Happy Tuesday x
Last month in my Moleskine daily planner, I stuck stickers, found leaves, spray painted through old doilies, sketched hilarious self portraits and tested new supplies. Only one month left and we are almost halfway through it! Happy Monday x
I thought I had missed a lot of pages in October, so I was pleasantly surprised that most pages are filled as they should be. I did drop the ball for a couple of days and they are as blank as unfilled pages! Nevermind, I carried on regardless. Lots of pages are covered with inspiration and instruction from Lisa Congdon’s October daily class at Creative Bug which helped keep me going. October saw lots of piles of rocks once I had made some pebble stamps along with botanicals and some stickers and postcards from my Portland trip. Happy Thursday x
I started my September pages with an idea that I would sketch something every day, as you can see that lasted all of five days! The rest of the month is my usual hotch potch of sketching, testing new supplies, magazine cuttings and lots of messing about. Are you keeping up with a daily practice? Of any kind. How is it going? Into August in my daily Moleskine planner where I make some kind of art (sometimes this word is used loosely!). I am still enjoying faces, mainly this month starting with an acrylic base shape and some ink for the features. I made a couple of new stamps and mess about with them. Some stuck in pictures and leaves along with some paint smooshes! I hope your month has been creative and your year continues in it’s creativity. Happy Wednesday x
Seven months into my daily Moleskine practice and I love how my little planner is getting fat and full! In July’s pages I have been continuing my stamp making and playing, practiced some faces (not sure what everyone is looking at on the last pages!), adding some simple collage elements and messing about generally. This is one of my favourite things about this practice, I get to just play, the paper in this book is thin and the pages end up crinkly and with the image before or after showing through, and because of this there is no pressure. If I want to paint face with strange hair and wild eyebrows, I will and I will pretend that is the image I was going for. Ha! This is where I will try new supplies and ideas, I will test a new stamp or stick in a fresh gelli print or print right onto the page. It is a wonderful and precious record of where I am at and what I am doing with my art. …
Lots of sketches and splats of colour in June. Two weeks of pages were completed while I was on holiday in England so there are some good memories in those pages. I like ‘Don’t panic’ as I did that page right before we flew to England and I was panicking! I am an airport panicker, always worried I have forgotten something or something will go wrong! Also, I like the sunnies which opened June, a pretty bad sketch but it makes me smile anyway. Are you doing a 365 project? How’s it going now we are half way through the year? Happy Tuesday x
May was a very floral month! I sketched, painted and collaged all the botanicals along with the Botanicals in Art Journaling class at Get Messy Art Journaling. I didn’t realize just how flower mad I had gone! No complaints here. Some of my favourite pages are the flowers for heads collage pages which crack me up and the pages where I was planning and making stamps. I am super proud of those stamps. Nearly half way through the year, I can’t believe it! Happy Thursday x SaveSave
Lots of flowers this past month as I also participated in Creative Bug‘s daily flower challenge with Pam Garrison. The flowers sit alongside vintage photos, vague figure sketching and a spot of collage. My Moleskine daily planner is filling up nicely and it is lovely to flip through the completed months and see what was going on. I use this planner to test new paint colours or practice a new idea or supply. It is a no pressure platform to mess about for a day and then turn the page. Some of which I like and some I don’t but whatever the turn out, I always turn the page and carry on. Happy Monday x
Blimey, March was not planned to be full of faces and mandalas but that is clearly how I filled my pages in my Moleskine planner! Isn’t it funny how certain things appear time and time again when you are keeping a regular sketchbook or creative book. I wonder what April will be filled with? Happy Wednesday x
