Weekly Photos 8/52 2015

1. It has been a freezing cold week.  All furry scarves are being deployed! 2. I drew my first postcard this week and mailed it off to the UK. 3. Our vintage globe. 4. Resting toy soldiers. 5. Detail from a building in the Japanese Garden, part of the Missouri Botanical Gardens.  It was freezing! 6. One of the sheep (Moutons sculpture) at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. 7. Canada Geese take a break on the lake at the Gardens. 8. Waterfalls seem more dramatic when it is super chilly out! 9. Cactus close up in the greenhouse. 10. Ices Plain and Fancy where they make ice cream with liquid nitrogen as you order.  So cool (ha, see what I did there!).  I had the coffee soft serve and it was fab. A few more photos this week, some taken with my Canon Rebel and some on my iPhone 6. Weekly Photos 6/52

  1.  I pass these dried Hydrangeas almost every day and I love how they still look so gorgeous even when they are all dry. 2. I snapped the full moon this week.  Look at the mega bright star just above it! 3. We found this walnut shell on the way to school and thought it looked like an owl. 4. I made some ginger molasses cookies. 5. A selection of the smells we will be using to make body balm and solid perfumes.  I can’t wait to get making and testing! 6. I also make pizza for dinner, mine is piled up with onions, mushrooms and kale. 7. I am loving the Tinkerlab February challenge, this one was following the prompt ‘Fairytale’.  I found an old paperback of Hans Christian Andersen tales at an estate sale so I drew in it! Weekly Photos 4/52 2015

            1. A trip to the High Pointe cinema this week to see Mr Turner which is a great film. 2. A dried out Hydrangea.  I am always amazed that they keep their perfect shape even when they are all dry and crispy. 3. Half Street. 4. I thought this car in all of it’s beat up glory was pretty cool. 5. Across the road I spotted these lovely trees. 6. Pint of Guiness in the pub on Sunday with friends! I edited these photos in Snapseed, some just a little crop and some a little vintage or black and white.  What are your favourite apps to edit?  I also like Over for text additions. It still isn’t very wintery here, to be honest I would like to see a drop of snow before the spring.  I hope your weather is treating you well and you are having a lovely Monday.

December Reflections and Weekly Photos 1/52.

  It was the last few days of December Reflections last week and then a return to weekly photos, I have missed posting random snaps, so I am happy to be sharing them again.  End of December and the beginning of a brand new shiny year in one week. 29.  My Smile. 30.  Thank you for.. Weekly Photos 52/52 December Reflections.

              22.  Fragrant – Home made lip balm. 23.  Sparkle. 24.  Gifts.  Advent calendar surprises. 25.  Today is… A lovely sunny day. 26.  Sweet.  My lovely boys on a hike in the woods. 27.  Silence.  Book time. 28.  Love is… Home made pizza for dinner. The last week of 2014!  Have you made any New Year Resolutions yet?  Do you stick to them?  I tend to make a big list then forget all about them! I am working on my ‘word’ for 2015, it seems to be the thing for next year, a word to live by.  No pressure then.  I had a word for 2014 but I can’t remember what it was.  See how good I am at this!!!  The December Reflections prompt for New Year’s Eve is ‘My word for 2015 is…’, so I had better get a wiggle on. For the month of December I have been taking part in December Reflections from Susannah Conway and posting them in place of my usual weekly photos. The highlights of this week were finishing school on Friday and seeing some magnificent Elk up close at the weekend and enjoying coffee and panettone on our hike! Wishing you a wonderful week!

Favourite Photo of 2014.  It is impossible to choose my favourite photo, but I have enjoyed using my Polaroid camera this year, it is a Construction Camera made by Polaroid and bright yellow! 12. Weekly Photos 48/52. 2014

            Last week was snowy and sunny and cold and warm.  Just as you would expect here in St Louis! It was my birthday and we went for a hike at Rockwoods Reservation which was lovely in the snow.  We liked it so much that we went again to walk a different trail at the weekend when it was nice and warm. 1.  A new bracelet added to my Etsy shop.  I am have a promotion all this week – 25% off with the code ‘ICY25’, pop over and see if there is anything you fancy! 2.  Steps in the snow. 3.  Swamp in the snow. 4.  Grasses at Rockwoods Reservation. 5.  Some impressive lichen. 6.  Reflections spotted while we were fossil hunting in the creek. I hope you had a good week and are looking forward to the week ahead.  We have a 10th birthday in our house this week, so I need to think of cake ideas!
