On this icy cold Friday 13th I am sharing thirteen things I have liked this week.
The new Hipstamatic lens/film park – Boulder is super cool and I also am loving the Frutiger film which adds the random imagery to your picture like the typewriter on my shed door above! The seeds below are taken with the Boulder pak.
Project Runway Junior is rather addictive as usual!
Lots of tea in my biggest mug.
I have been using my vintage Polaroid Onestep 600 with a Duo-Chrome 600 Yellow film and it is very dramatic. Instead of the pale tones they are replaced with yellow.
Flora Bowley books, YouTube and Creative Bug videos are so inspiring to me at the moment, her method is much freer that I usually do, so I am trying to loosen up in my paintings and art journals.
Britt-Marie was Here by Fredrik Backman is another fabulous read by Mr Backman. So good.
After falling in love with the A3 Moleskine sketchbook, I discovered a giant Strathmore 500 series mixed media sketchbook. It is not quite as big as the Moleskine but the paper is much thicker which I like.
The Flow Book for Paper Lovers is always a favourite and I just enjoy browsing it.
I like that another art journal is filling up, some of my favorite journals are the Ranger Dylusions books.
Books to alter and journal in are always a great find and I got both of these at a local second hand shop. The blue book is a book of Mexican art and architecture from 1968. I can’t wait to get messy in them!
Home baked blueberry muffins for breakfast on an icy day .
The Lisa Congdon Sessions ‘Idea Generation’ is a very informative class which I am working through.
Fish chips and mushy peas for dinner!
Happy Friday!
Lovely list here Clare and I LOVE that yellow film and Hipstamatic effects – ace! I keep lusting after the FLOW books and a big yes, yes, yes to all kinds of scrapbooks, sketchbooks and pretty books to art journal in. I see a highly creative 2017 ahead 🙂
The yellow film is a funny fellow, it either works really well or just makes the photo weird! Lots of contrast seems to be the tip. I am feeling creative this year!
The yellow on the Polaroid!!! Omg!!! Love xxx
Thanks Edie, it is very effective on high contrast pictures. Makes me think hard about what I am photographing with it!
Lovely pics! I laughed at your Friday night dinner because we had what my cousin calls “Frozen Friday” – Party pies and chocolate covered vanilla ice creams all from the freezer. 🙂
Sounds like a perfectly good dinner to me!!!
Great list Claire! I could even manage the hipstamatic app (always a great start) and I like the idea of the ideas generator too. Dinner sounds yummy too!
Hipstamatic is one of the very first photo apps I got and it is one of the few I still use. Dinner was good!
