Weekly Photos 2/52 2015

            1.  I pulled out my lovely stamps and ink pads to make a little stampy art this week. 2.  Eyes on a trash can! 3&4 The creek was frozen. 5.  We found a heart in a rock. 6.  3501.  Numbers found on the Lemp building in St Louis. We have had a cold cold week with a little layer of snow.  No snow days much to the disappointment of my boys!  I have decided to get my stamps and paints out more regularly and get some practice in! I found these cool building numbers while we were out treasure hunting at the weekend. Have a lovely week ahead!

Questions four you!

I picked up these questions from Alison at the fabulous Writing Wishing blog.  So here is a bit about me.  Grab the questions at the end of the post and play along if you want. Four names that people call me, other than my real name. Clara (most times this is what people seem to hear when I tell them my name in this country, I blame accent confusion) MUUUUUUUUM! Clare Bear was the nearest I got to a nickname. Clack (I honestly once got a coffee in Starbucks and this was written on the cup as my name!) Four jobs I have had (not counting current jobs) Usher at Nottingham Playhouse. Saturday girl at Lincoln Box Office. Bell Ringer at the village church (I think we got 5p per practice and if we rang for a wedding we got 10p!) Directory Enquiries at British Telecom. Four movies I have watched more than once The Incredibles A Bug’s Life The Nightmare Before Christmas Cinema Paradiso Four books I’d recommend Where’d You Go Bernadette? Tell the …

Paint Swatch Poetry for Halloween

I first saw paint swatch poetry on two fab blogs I follow, Leaf and Petal and The Magpie Diaries.  I thought it was a great idea and couldn’t wait to get to the DIY store to grab a handful of paint swatches.  They must have thought I was painting a whole building once I had gathered my pile! I did a couple of random ‘poem’s and it is super fun, I thought I would have to have lots of attempts, but I just went for it and discarded the less successful. I arranged the cards by colour rather than the crazy names, so that I wouldn’t get distracted by the words.  I find random very difficult, so I let myself sort colours. Cards with three colours were easier because all the ‘organising’ is already done. I started with these.   From the Tree Apple Cider From the Field Brown Bread From Pure Joy Gingersnap.   Oh my goodness, those Pinking Shears have gone Completely Bananas at my expense. There is no more Hibiscus Tea thanks …

A Cup of Tea with Me and a few of my Favourite Things.

I am linking up with the rest of my class at Blog With Pip (want a blog course to blow your socks off?  This is the one,)  for a communal, over the interweb cup of tea and a chat.  The other links are here if you want to pop over and meet them all. The course has been a mixing bowl of new students and graduates of previous courses (I did the course in February too) and everyone brings their own talent to share.  Designers, writers, idea drivers, technical wizards, all in the same class and meeting up many many times a day to chat on Facebook in our own private group.  I have learnt so much from the class and my fellow students, much more than I thought I ever would considering the course is all online, based in beautiful Australia (students are world wide though) and I have never met any of them in person. I have made new friends, learnt new things and am striving for new goals.  Oh, and it is …

Why I write.

I have been handed the baton to write about ‘Why I Write’ from the gorgeous Karen of Leaf and Petal blog.    This has turned into quite the blog hop and the links are being gathered at Maxabella Loves if you want to see more. What am I Working On? This blog is what I am working on right now, it is kind of new, even though I have had a blog for a few years over at CatsEatDogs.  So I am working on keeping up the momentum of writing regularly and keeping myself interested and bringing you you along with me. I am also working on painted words (like the picture above), I like the brush script look and am always painting on,  and sending cards and postcards.  Fonts are a wonderful thing to play with too, so I like to work cool fonts into cards to print and send.  Keeping snail mail alive! How Does My Writing Differ from Others in my Genre? I use lots and lots of photos and I like to …
