Weekly Photos 42/52 2014

1 & 2 The raindrops look so amazing on these pink leaves, I had to snap them. 3 & 4 Lots of metal pumpkins and vintage letters and signs, what great colours. 5 One of the local Black Walnut trees has lost all of it’s leaves and is just left with walnuts for decoration. 6. We went to the pumpkin patch this weekend and there were some duck shaped gourds! 7. The sky changed colour and cloud density all afternoon, I took this last photo (and all of the others come to think of it) and used no filter.  More wonderful colour and light. I hope you had a lovely week and are looking forward to this week.  I have lots of jewelry to make and a 4th grade Halloween party to organise. Happy Monday!

  1. At last the chili peppers are growing!  I only planted them in April….  Now I just hope I get a little crop before the frost comes. 2. I am happy to be harvesting lavender still. 3. Three long or short necklaces, soon to be added to my Etsy shop.  I made me one too (of course) and they are super casual and full of good energies. 4. Woodland floor, Autumn edition. 5. Art at the Metro-Link. 6. Flowers in bloom at the St Louis Zoo. 7.  Elephant fountain at the Zoo all ready for Halloween! 8. I spotted a new favourite at the St Louis Art Museum. I hope you had a fab week and that the week ahead will be wonderful for you!

Weekly Photos 39/52

            1.  The trees are just starting to change into their Autumn colours. 2.  Newly listed wrap bracelet in my Etsy shop, this week I am working on some necklaces. Yay! 3.  We spotted these bright orange beauties on the way to school. 4.  At the weekend we cruised the ‘Tri City’ yard sale event which is held locally.  Lots of yard sales to check out and I saw this lovely Spinning Wheel but left it behind.  I don’t see spinning in my future!  Love the graphics on the box though. 5.  We have seen this Box Turtle in the woods a few times this week and on Saturday he was walking up the middle of the road, so we intervened and took him back to the woods.  I hope he wasn’t on his way somewhere important… 6.  Apparently this soda was discontinued in the early 1990’s, so this was a cool find in the woods this weekend.  I like the graphics on this label too.  Amazing to think it …

            1.  A fancy new bracelet in my Etsy shop.  Have I mentioned how much I like to make things!? 2.  A very neatly nibbled mushroom. 3.  Some of the first Autumn leaves. 4.  A big mushroom in my neighbour’s yard. 5.  Rocks forming the base of the creek. 6.  Blue and yellow, the perfect contrast.  Chihuly glass at the Missouri Botanical Gardens, I have to photo this every time we go! I hope you had a good week and this week is even better!

Weekly Photos 37/52.

Last week we saw sun and rain and a flooded park as well as mushrooms and a day out!  Did you have a good week?  I hope so!   1.  I made some new earrings for my CatsEatDogs shop over on Etsy.  I like this style because they are dramatic without being over the top and lightweight to wear. 2.  Lovely Hydrangeas with a dewy glaze. 3.  Mushrooms! 4.  On Wednesday it rained and rained and on the way to gymnastics we had to detour around the park because the creek had flooded up and over onto the park and path.  It was cool to see, but the water was flowing pretty fast, so we made no attempt to wade through it. 5.  The next day the creek had receded back to normal levels, so we popped on the wellies and went exploring.  The creek bed was very different following the storm, new deeper parts, more rocks revealed and new things to find.  We rescued the American flag from the side of the creek and …

The August Break 11-17 and Weekly Photos 33/52

11.  Handwriting.  Chalk board on the door. 12.  On the Table. 13.  My Guilty Pleasure.  I was supposed to be running… 14.  Hands. 15.  Blue.  Truck and flag. 16.  Look Down.  Vintage ‘Life’ magazines in a box in a junk shop. 17.  Bookshelf.  Polaroid camera and car amid my book pile. The August Break prompts are getting my creativity flowing.   I like to be sure I take photos and make something or draw something every day even if what I make is a sandwich!   This week I roasted corn on the fire pit after we had hot dogs and s’mores for lunch.  The corn is destined for chowder and in the freezer at the minute. I listed a few new necklaces on my Etsy shop and the dog demanded I take his handsome photo! Have a lovely week!

August Break 4-10 and Weekly Photos 32/52

I have decided to add a few weekly photos into today’s round up, so we have the August Break prompts and some randoms from the week. 4.  Orange.  A glowing orange pepper. 5.  Three.  Lemonade bottles. 6.  Reflection. 7. Today is… raining and produced a heart shaped puddle! 8. Selfie. 9. In my bag. 10. Drink.  Mint, Lavender and Lemon tea, brewing in the sun. Last week we enjoyed the cooler weather, could Autumn be on the way?!  I spotted a bright door, we played dominoes, the sunflower is so yellow it almost glows in the dark and we found lost treasures in the creek.  I wonder who this watch belonged to? I hope you had a good week and that you are looking forward to the week ahead.  We are back to school this week, so we are having a love/hate relationship with that as we gather notebooks and pencils together and remember locker combinations.

The August Break 2014

I am joining in with Susannah Conway’s August Break this year and taking daily shots following her prompts and tips.  I must say that I am enjoying the e mails she sends out every day immensely, some are photos and tips from Susannah and some are guest tipsters like the wonderful Xanthe Berkeley.  Lots of ideas, inspiration and creativity going on! So, for the month of August, I will be sharing the week’s ‘Break’ photos on a Monday.  I am keeping my phone or camera handy and my eyes open this month hoping to get some great end of summer pics! Here are days 1 – 3. 1.  Lunch.  Jimmy Johns delivery sandwich while I have a quick peek at Oh Comely magazine.   2.  Pattern.   3.  Window. I found this learning French book and I love the illustrations in it.  It was published in the 1960’s and so colourful and ace! I am looking forward to finding cool stuff through August and getting lots of ideas. Happy week to you!
