1. Blue skies and a lovely silver birch tree as I walked the dog this week. 2. The mornings are starting to become dewy and cool and the cobwebs are stunning when covered in droplets. 3. We went to an estate sale on the next street on Saturday and there were lots and lots of paperback romance novels! 4. This old very cool cash register was at the same sale, I didn’t buy the register and no romance novels came home with me either! 5. I spotted this wilting daisy in a fence. 6. Found lots of mushrooms and acorns as we wandered in the woods. 7. This bottle is a mystery from the past!  I immediately thought it may have contained soda once upon a time because of the cartoon dwarf like face on it, but at least a couple of people have said they it might well have contained alcohol.  I have looked on the Google machine but can’t find any like it. A week of sunshine, mysteries and mushrooms in the woods! …

1-3. We visited Sandy Creek Covered Bridge State Park on Monday last week as it was Labor Day here and everyone was off school and work in our house. It was an impressive bridge over a creek where kids can paddle and look for rocks and arrow heads. 4. Near the park was The Old Curiosity Shop which sadly was closed as it was a Monday. I wonder what treasure is in there! 5. We spotted this old sign in a field so of course I had to snap a photo. 6. Lunch at Fozzies,  a local sandwich shop with a trailer along with the raised beds and vegetables and herbs. 7-12. On Saturday I was up with the lark (and the dog) to go to Mount Pleasant Winery for a fundraiser for Pedal the Cause hosted by Core 3 Fitness.  I took photos for the event and I got to visit the wine cellars which were amazing. The cellars sounded like crickets and smelt like well, wine. I got to explore the winery and …

I am a day late with weekly photos this week because of the holiday here in the States, of course this means that I will have no clue what the day is for the rest of the week! 1. A look at my dining table when I have my stuff all over the place as I mess about in my art journals. 2.This giant caterpillar was on the hot pepper plant early this week, we decided to leave him even though he was munching away at the whole plant including the chilli peppers! 3. The very next day the plant was almost bare, by the end of the week he had gone (hopefully to spin his chrysalis and not into a bird’s belly). 4. I indulged in a maple latte before my trip to Forest Park on Wednesday. Fall is coming! 5. A replica of ‘The Spirit of St Louis’ hanging in the History Museum. 6. Saint Louis residing outside the St Louis Art Museum. 7. Art inside the St Louis Art Museum. 8. A …

More gelli plate printing, this time I have transferred my painting faces obsession onto the gelli plate. 7. Discarded air fresheners. I don’t like the smell of a new car and certainly would not want a blue tree which smelled like one.  Not sure about Black Ice either to be honest. I hope you had a good week. Happy Monday x

  1. The tomatoes are coming along nicely, I am still picking a handful of ripe ones every day.  It has rained heavily over the past few days so the plants have tilted slightly, but the tomatoes are all growing and ripening. 2. We got a Sno Cone lunch this week.  I had a coconut cream sno cone and a ‘Chicago’ hot dog. Not the healthiest of lunches, but it was good! 3. The trees are starting to drop a few leaves. We have had a cooler few days and it has been so lovely. 4. The dining table during the summer, G.I. Joes and paints in harmony! I paint and sketch in my journal while my 11 year old sorts out his G.I. Joe accessories. 5. The caterpillars are making kale lace in the garden. 6. I spotted the most beautiful colour palette in these berries.  They are growing on a vine which is all along the fence in my back garden.  So I had to pick a few off and paint them and …
