Joining in with the ever gorgeous Pip at Meet Me at Mikes for this week’s ‘One+Four=Life project – one week, four photos! 1.  Pablo the French Bulldog came for a walk to school and found himself a tennis ball! 2. It was Field Day this week and a lovely day was had. 3. and 4. At the weekend we went to a sale at a local antiques mall and picked up a couple of bargains, left the cow there although she was pretty cool! Have a fab week!  Happy Star Wars Day.

Weekly photos 11/52

This past week saw a couple of very nice sunny warm days which was a very nice peek at Spring.  The garlic is growing healthy green shoots and the bulbs are starting to come through.  The rest of the week was pretty chilly though. Here are last week’s photos, starting with a funny doggy face!  He was barking to get me to throw his ball when I snapped this. I took a few photos for a post I wrote earlier last week, but here is a photo I didn’t use which shows the vintage tray off. It poured with rain one night and in the morning everything was damp, but not soaked.  I spotted this solitary leaf with it’s load of raindrops so I got a picture.  When I went back later in the afternoon, it was still there, with just a few less drops, so I got an update! I took this photo of the sun behind clouds behind the magnolia tree.  Then I mixed it in with a photo I had taken of …

8/52 Weekly Photos, Living Arrows and Purple

Purple was the colour of the week last week in the #colorcolour project thanks to the great minds of Hula Seventy and Xanthe Berkeley.  It is amazing what you spot when you are looking out for a specific colour.  I though I would find nothing at all purple, even though I walk past the purple wall at the YMCA nearly every day!  Purple flowers were in my Valentine’s bunch and I love violet sweeties.   I took the photos of Pablo with my Canon and I like the way they have captured him, especially when he kicks up the ground behind him like he is ready to race! I started a granny square using Pip’s beginner video (still not finished it, but I will and I will be sure to share my crochet triumph!) Mr Y and I went out with the metal detector into the deepest woods yesterday looking for treasure.  We found some old rusty nails, a couple of bottle caps and some bugs hiding from the cold.  Better luck next …

Through the Lens Thursday. Reflection.

As part of Through the Lens Thursday hosted by Greta at GFunkified and Alison at Writing Wishing, here is this weeks offering.  Today is cloudy and dry, so not many natural reflection opportunities. I have this lovely vintage mirror, so I thought the reflection of the tree in the mirror might be cool, then look who popped in to check himself out. Click, done! Thanks Pablo for being my doggie model!

Ten on the tenth October 2013

I have decided to take all of the photos this month using the Hipstamatic Oggl app.  I like that you can add Hipstamatic filters after the photo has been taken.  I have limited lenses and films though as I haven’t handed any cash over to become a member.  It was a warm Autumnal day yesterday, so I got lots of leaf shots! Pablo and I went for a little walk in the sunshine and we got some leafy photos and stopped at the water fountains for drinks. I made a birthday cake which sat in the cupboard hiding!  I used Smitten Kitchen’s chocolate cake recipe which was excellent as are all of her recipes.  In fact I also used a SK recipe for the apple muffins which are also in a photo here.  I just added some caramel pieces to the recipe. I made some lovely chunky rings this week and photoed them with a golden cow! Another 10th passes by and we are almost half way through October.  Halloween is nearly here.  Do you …

Ten on the tenth September 2013

Today’s Ten on the Tenth marks a year of me taking ten photos of the 10th of each month, starting in September 2012. The mushrooms are popping up in the woods which makes me hopeful for cooler days. Autumn is on the way. Cooler mornings and nights should be just around the corner. In today’s photos, we have mushrooms, fallen leaves, an abandoned pet toy, diggers, sewing kit, a mint, a nearly finished necklace, a sunflower in seed and Pablo our French Bulldog.

February Photo a Day 2013

Another month of daily photos complete!  I must say, I do like to look back over the month and see what I took.  Some of this month’s have been a struggle and resulted in a quick snap and done, like ‘fork’ and ‘where you ate your lunch’.  On the other hand I am really happy with some of the photos like the ‘hope’ mittens and the last one ‘upside down’.  Nothing like a mess about with a few apps to make a boring prompt a bit more interesting, which I suppose is the whole point of the challenge. If you fancy joining in, here are the March prompts – Fat Mum Slim photo a day. Day 1. Fork Fork in a cake at Handmade Happy Hour in Home Wine Kitchen which is a fabulous local restaurant and venue. Day 2. Pattern. Close up of the pattern in some vintage fabric I bought from Miss Ohio Vintage, I plan to make a summer infinity scarf with it. Day 3. Something beginning with e.   A school …
