Updating my blogroll

I have added a few blogs to my blogroll today as I realized that some of the ones I read lots are missing.  I also picked some fab posts I have found today.  Take a look. I want to make one of these felt coffee cup cozies Always wondered what to do with extra confetti?  Lots of good ideas here .  I like 16 and 17 best. Baked donuts have to be good for you don’t they? Let’s try this test to see what magic we can find in colour.  My test score was 29, and nearly sent my eyes squiffy! Who doesn’t need a printable book to record ideas in. Finally this is a heart lifting and encouraging post as I wade into National Blog Post Month (NaBloPoMo). I also picked you a bunch of Autumn colour.  See how nice I am!  Happy Wednesday, I hope your sun is shining bright.

CatsEatDogs Earthy Heart pendant

Do you have an earthy heart? I think I do, I like being outdoors, running, walking anywhere – to the library, to school, to the gym, wandering through the little wooded area at the end of our street or hiking a hilly trail.  I don’t even care if it is raining or snowing although I am not a fan of frying under the hot sun. While I am outside I am gathering colours and textures. Taking photos, gathering acorns and empty acorn cups or vibrant leaves to press flat and crisp when I get home. I am always finding pressed leaves in the diary or in one of my fat notebooks which I have kept from the year or years past. Crispy but still vibrant leaves tucked into the pages for future discovery. In this heart, I have used some earth colours without making it a season specific piece. I don’t want to be told when I can wear a piece of jewelry by making it too Autumny or holiday specific, so I am not …

Project 365 Photos 1 – 3

The first week of the Click it Up a Notch 365 Project was a short one as we started on November 1st which was Friday, so only three photos this week. 1/365.  My very first photo taken with my camera on manual.  I love this reel of thread, remember when I found it in the box of sewing equipment at a basement sale?    The fact that it is even in focus makes me a happy girl! 2/365.  This blue and peeling door is part of the Lemp Brewery building in downtown St Louis.  I took this on my iPhone 4, no filters, just a crop. 3/365.  I was looking at the bright yellow tree above this ‘paint’ (it is coloured water in an old tin, mixed up by my youngest!) when I noticed the reflection.  It took a few goes before I got a good image of the tree in the blue paint. I am looking forward to this year of photos.  I have completed the themed photo a day challenges before, but this one …

To infinity (scarf) and beyond!

I have a scarf problem as you know and I do love to wear them as much as I can. Autumn is ideal scarf weather and lots of ways to wear scarves is a must. Infinity scarves are super easy to wear, but most of my scarves are the old fashioned flat variety. So I tried knotting the ends of one of my big scarves and ta-dah, I could wear it another way. I wrapped it twice around my neck and it works like a dream. This works best on big scarves made from fine fabric, so don’t go knotting up your woolly thick knit scarf! I am off to find more scarves to transform with a couple of knots.   Happy sunny Sunday!

Six word Saturday

I came across this shabby case full of life at a junk shop today. There were purses, a powder compact, books and an address book stashed within. I find things like this fascinating and almost wanted to buy it just so I could keep it just as it is, with just a wipe over. Do you have a six word Saturday? Share here or using #sixwordsaturday in Instagram. Have a lovely weekend, see you tomorrow!

NaBloPoMo and Project 365

I rather hope I haven’t bitten off more than I can chew this November.  I have taken on two ‘challenges’ both of which are blog related (no, I am not participating in Mo’vember, there will be no facial hair in my future).    I am hoping that I will improve in my blog post writing this month and my photos will improve in a year long project which happens to start today. No  matter how much I would love to write a book when I grow up, it is most likely not going to be a novel, so although NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) would be an amazing way to kick start that novel, I will not be the author.  However the fine folk at WordPress and Blog Her are joining forces this year for this year’s November of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Post Month) which is within my capabilities I think.  I hope anyway, I will let you know in about a month! Project 365 is a daily photograph challenge and hosted by Click it …
