Through the Lens Thursday. Reflection.

As part of Through the Lens Thursday hosted by Greta at GFunkified and Alison at Writing Wishing, here is this weeks offering.  Today is cloudy and dry, so not many natural reflection opportunities. I have this lovely vintage mirror, so I thought the reflection of the tree in the mirror might be cool, then look who popped in to check himself out. Click, done! Thanks Pablo for being my doggie model!

Through the Lens Thursday. White.

I am enjoying participating in Through the Lens Thursday.  It makes sure I use my camera at least once a week and on manual only.  I do only use manual now, sometimes I seem to take terrible picture after terrible picture, but I don’t flick back to auto.  I either persevere or grab my phone!!!  Ha, what a cheat! I think this picture worked though, I like the white (cream I suppose) vintage thread on it’s lovely wooden reel with the white snow as background. I also spotted this white (once) stool at school yesterday when I was taking some photos of jewelry in the art room.  The room has great light, so I thought I would try taking some product photos in there and of course I can never focus on just one thing so I snapped a quick pic of this stool.  I love that it is clearly an art room stool and well used. Next week’s theme is ‘Reflection’, so I need to keep my eyes open and my imagination alert for …

Happy Friday and a late through the lens Thursday.

Yesterday didn’t go so well, nothing terrible happened, it was just a rubbish day and I got nothing of any use done.  In fact I really got nothing done, of use or not. The day started out just fine, but then I took some photos which all turned out so badly I had to delete the lot, I think this was the tipping point, unfortunately this was 8.20am, so the rest of the day stood no chance. I thought I would make something, that usually helps, so out comes the sewing machine and the fabric and the ironing board.  I cut out a scarf, yes a scarf, only the easiest thing to make next to maybe, a napkin.   A rectangle of fabric which according to third grade math, is also known as a ‘special square’.  A special square?  Where does that leave triangles? Rehab? Anyway, it all went wrong, my scissors are so old and abused (paper, I blame the paper) they barely manage fabric any more so even the basic cutting out was …

Through the lens Thursday. One.

Today I spotted a great idea and year long project conceived by Alison at Writing Wishing and Greta at GFunkified. They provide the prompts and we all take a photo or photos every Thursday for 2014. I am going to use my ‘grown up’ camera for my Through the Lens Thursday posts, and by the end of the year I will be a photo taking genius! Ok, maybe not a total genius,  hopefully I will be taking better photos with an improved knowledge of my camera in all of it’s manual glory. I am proud to say that I now use my camera on manual only and I have been for a few months, but some of those little numbers and letters still confuse my little brain.   I see more clarity in the brain department as well as the picture department by the end of the year! This week’s prompt is ‘soft’ and I loved the soft light falling on the fresh snow this morning. All I did to this photo was crop it …
