7/52 Weekly photos

First up this week are the weekly Color/Colour photos.  Green was the chosen colour last week and photo shooting was headed up by Xanthe and Andrea and Instagrammed in style under #color/colour.   I managed to spot some green walls, green trees and a fab old Robin Hood book. The other part of todays photo collection is an assignment from Blog With Pip which is a fantabulous e course I am doing.  The course runs at intervals through the year and I recommend it highly, just the right combination of techy brain work and creative fun stuff.  Headed up by Pip of Meet Me At Mikes. The homework was to take five photos over the weekend and here they are.  All of mine were taken in the antique mall close to where we live. I managed to leave everything there, although I nearly gave into the cute sunflower salt and pepper pots and the Satellite Camera. Must. Resist. Cool. Old. Stuff. I snapped this last one while we were walking home from school one day …

6/52 Weekly photos and Living Arrows

This week’s colour for the colour photo challenge from Hula Seventy and Xanthe Berkeley is pink, so above is my pink collection.  Not much in the way of pink around, but I found a few things to snap. I didn’t take a ton of photos this week, snow is only interesting for so long and the novelty has officially worn off!  I long for some little flowers to start peeking out and I want to plant veggies. In the meantime, here are the photos from last week.  I have been doing a ‘Brush Script’ class online with Studio Calico and Kal Barteski and I have been practicing and practicing as you can see by the full floor! We found a massive icicle hanging from the slide one morning on the way to school. And we saw some pelicans visiting the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary. This photo is part of the Living Arrows project hosted by I Heart Snapping, a weekly photo of the children or something relating to them.  Mr.Y has his own arrow, made …

5/52 Weekly Photos, Yellow and Living Arrows

This week I tried to find cool yellow things which is hard.  All I could see was road markings and traffic signs.  Then, at the weekend, we went to the Upcycle Exchange where they sell all sorts of crafty bits and bobs as well as vintage fabric-ness.  I found the lovely spotted yellow scarf there and continued to find all sorts of yellow through the day! So my yellow train barriers and fire hydrant had some yellow company.  Thanks to Hula Seventy and Xanthe Berkeley for hosting this  colourful photo gathering opportunity. Onto the weekly photos.  This week has been cold and sunny and cold and cloudy and rainy then icy!  We had a very slippery walk to karate on Friday evening. At one point Mr.Y and I both went down on a sloping drive, every time we tried to get up, down we went.   The giggling may not have helped, but crawling and sliding to the grass verge did help us get up!    Sorry, no photos of that.  I do have photos …

2/52 Weekly photos 2014

Two weeks and no bevvies for me!  Wooohooo.  I just hope that I will be able to announce two months and keep going through the year.  How are your resolutions going?  I can’t really remember the rest of mine to be honest.  That can’t be a good sign. The snow stayed nearly all week and after a nice downpour has nearly all gone now.   Yay.  The sun is out and temps are almost ‘no coat’ this week. I got some pictures of some frost and snow, sweeties and left over Christmas lights.  All of the photos are taken on the iPhone 4. I made some Harissa paste and used all of these chillies!  I am thinking I just made chilli paste to be honest.  It wasn’t as head blowingly hot as I thought it would be.  Pretty good with some salmon though. Digging out the snow cave.  Snowy seeds looking all pretty.Blackberry coffee cake.  Yums. Sweeties galore.

1/52 Weekly photos 2014

I can’t believe that last Monday was still 2013.   As usual time is zipping by and I am just about keeping up. This week we saw New Year, I stopped drinking FOR A YEAR (ha, we’ll see), we started a ‘Positive jar’ which we put a teeny note in every day with something positive on it, so that we can open it in a year and enjoy all the notes and it snowed – lots. All of these photos were taken on the iphone 4.  Some with filters from Camera+, some taken with Oggl and some straight out of the camera, no filter. Forest Park on New Year’s Eve was icy and all blue skies, a pretty end to the year.  Frozen leaves in the ponds and a little scrap of a rainbow over the bandstand. We ended up with about 12 inches of snow by the time it stopped snowing yesterday.  We went out in the morning, but by the afternoon it was frozen nose time, so we didn’t bother!

Project 365 Photos 1 – 3

The first week of the Click it Up a Notch 365 Project was a short one as we started on November 1st which was Friday, so only three photos this week. 1/365.  My very first photo taken with my camera on manual.  I love this reel of thread, remember when I found it in the box of sewing equipment at a basement sale?    The fact that it is even in focus makes me a happy girl! 2/365.  This blue and peeling door is part of the Lemp Brewery building in downtown St Louis.  I took this on my iPhone 4, no filters, just a crop. 3/365.  I was looking at the bright yellow tree above this ‘paint’ (it is coloured water in an old tin, mixed up by my youngest!) when I noticed the reflection.  It took a few goes before I got a good image of the tree in the blue paint. I am looking forward to this year of photos.  I have completed the themed photo a day challenges before, but this one …

Weekly photos Oct 28 2013

Pair of mushrooms and an ant. Cheese Swirl Buns to go with tomato soup for a quick dinner. A very chilly morning. I smiled as I took this dude’s picture.  He has such a funny face. Bodhi carved a mini pumpkin. Block Party street art. A box full of sewing treasures found at a basement sale. Halloween decos. Shadow on the street. It has been a busy week, dentist appointments, parent teacher conferences, gymnastics, karate belt test, sleepovers, chilli cook off at school and a street Halloween party.  Phew. I finished watching ‘Derek’ on Netflix this week and I loved it.  What are you watching?  Anything I need to catch up on? Have a fab week!

Weekly photos Oct 21

Last week was  a lovely Autumn week, blue skies, sun out and a chill in the air.  Gloves needed in the mornings to walk to school and catching falling leaves on the way. Halloween is around the next corner and November through the next door. Photos are: 1.  A popped seed pod on the trail, spotted on the way home from school and snapped with the iPhone using Camera+. 2.  Shirts on the line. 3.  Bodhi took this of me at the park.  Taken on the phone and messed about with in Camera+. 4.  Making flavoured salts. 5.  Crazy spinner at the park.  The kids hold on and it spins around until they let go and wobble off across the field! 6.  Brothers. 7.  Changing trees. I link up with The Beetle Shack for the Weekly Stills posts.  Pop over and see the others, there are some great photos. This week I am planning the third grade Halloween party, making chilli, jewels and planning a scarf design.  What are you up to?  Whatever it is, …
