1. Sketching in Spring Break.  Drawing Cityscapes and getting inspired by the book 365 Things to Draw and Paint.

2. Daffodils and my first ever crochet project (I have since started again as I was losing so many stitches!)

3. Veggie soup for dinner.

4. Line tickets for a local Estate Sale.  I scored some vintage magazines a book all about character from the twenties!

For my weekly photos this week (and maybe for ever and ever) I am joining in with Pip at Meet me at Mikes, taking and posting four photos from my week.

I hope you had a good week and the sun is shining where you are.

I live in St Louis, MO, but I am originally from Lincoln, Great Britain. My family and I have lived in the Mid West for over 15 years now. My blog is www.catseatdogs.com where I blog and chat about all kinds of creative stuff.

  1. Hi Clare! Your 1 + 4 = Life photos are great…that veggie soup looks delicious! And good on you for trying your first crochet project. I think you will find it very satisfying 🙂 I am currently attempting to crochet a massive stripey blanket (also inspired by Pip’s recent creation – she’s good like that!) and think it will take me a few months, but it’s very therapeutic. St Louis USA, wow, I would love to go there one day. The US is definitely on my list of places to visit but I think I would need at least 2-3 spare months to do it some kind of justice. Have a lovely week, look forward to catching your next 1 + 4 = Life post! x Isabel

    • Hi Isabel! This is going to be a supercool weekly thing I think. I am so happy that someone took the time to show me in person to crochet, I am terrible at learning from books or even videos. I should think this blanket will take me many months!!!

  2. nice photo set!
i’m loving the lavender yarn. i was back and forth between lavender and a denim blue yarn for another poncho. i did pick the blue only because i figured i should have the basic colors taken care.
are you working on a particular project or just practicing?

    • I like the sound of a denim blue poncho. I think I am crocheting a blanket made from strips of crochet, but I keep losing and gaining stitches making a rather wobbly first strip!
