Thanks to Pip at Meet me at Mikes for hosting One + Four = Life this week again, I didn’t take many photos this week, but I managed a few, so here are my four snaps.
1. Ice cream sweets from Grandma and Grandad in England. Before the kids consumed them, I managed to find some funky paper in a copy of Mollie Makes for a quick photo.
2. Waterloo, Illinois under blue skies.
3. Rust and lichen on a bridge.
4. Strawberry summer cake. I came across the recipe on Smitten Kitchen’s Facebook page and had strawberries in the fridge, so I made it. I highly recommend this bake. In fact I don’t think I have made anything which was disappointing from the Smitten Kitchen book or website.
Wishing you all a happy Memorial Day!
Wow. That photo of the rust on the bridge is really cool. I love the texture it created. :]

Thanks Carmen! I stopped in my tracks to get a shot!
About 1/2 a dozen completely unrelated people I know have made that cake this week, it looks awesome, as you say though I’ve never been disappointed by anything Smitten Kitchen has published.
I think we all saw the same Facebook post and had strawberries in the fridge!
enjoyed the lovely collection of images you have there Clare.
Thanks so much Romana x
Oh the lollies and paper so cute. That cake looks sooooo good. Zoe xx
Thanks Zoe, I snapped the sweets before the bits could eat them! The cake is worth making.
Oh that strawberry cake!! Yum!!!!!
A great collection of photos for the week. Every week I tell myself I am going to take part in this series – and every week flies by before I know it! I do enjoy seeing every one elses photos though!
