Printing Instagram Photos. Let’s print ’em and keep ’em!

Do you print photos?  Any photos?  Regular phone and camera shots are easy peasy to get printed, but fancy having your fabulous Instagram squares in your hot little hands?  Want an album of them or have a box filled with them?  I love to see photos printed in albums or in a lovely box or tin.  There is something special about leafing through an album or rifling through a box of photo memories. Whatever you do, don’t send Instagrams to a regular printing place as regular prints, you will get a strange 6×4 print with part of your lovely Insta square picture on it, I have plenty of these from before I found places to print Insta’s as squares.    Lots of places do Instagram printing now in various sizes but always the signature square.  Yay! I usually send mine to Walgreens and look out for coupons for bargain printing, Insta prints are more expensive than regular, so a coupon is worth having!  Walgreens is my local drugstore, so that is best for me, but …

Weekly Photos 20/52

  1.  My neighbour’s lovely onion head flower. 2.  Birdy at the zoo. 3.  Seal teeth. 4.  Seal watching. 5.  Hippo behind the fish. 6.  Rain soaked Peony. 7.  Clouds on Hipstamatic. 8.  Watching kickball. 9.  Thistle at the Metro train track. This week was hot and cold and sunny and rainy.  Pretty much all weather covered!  I survived a school field trip to the zoo where we saw lots of animals even though it rained all day.  I had a small group of kids to herd and they all had a great time, not a single complaint about the rain! I have been stalking the neighbourhood flowers, they are so glorious, I have to snap photos whenever I get chance.  The peonies were so gorgeous in the rain, I didn’t care that I was on my knees with my camera trying to get the best angle with flower and raindrops in perfect harmony (and focus). I haven’t used the Hipstamatic app for a while as sometimes all of those lens/film choices get a little …

Through The Lens Thursday 19. Dream.

Dream.  A photograph of a dream?  Following a dream?  Dreaming?  What to take? Then, on the walk back from school, I spotted a circle of mushrooms on the path through the woods. Don’t we all dream there will be a crowd of fairies in every ring of mushrooms or toadstools we see?  I do! Alas, if there were any fairies present here, I missed them.  I had to clear away a few leaves and get down almost on the ground to get this shot, so I feel certain I would have spotted any. I know, I know, I was in the middle of the woods crouched on the ground photographing mushrooms!  All the time hoping that no-one would walk by!! Do you take photos all over the place? Are you bothered if anyone thinks you are a nut? I am pretty self conscious to be honest and looking a fool is not my top priority. Having said that, if I want the picture, I can usually summon up some courage from somewhere.  So there I …

Weekly photos 18/52

Last week saw the arrival of May which is one of my favourite months of the year, the weather is usually lovely,  gracefully welcoming summer and by the end of the month school is out. For the photo selection this week we have: Storm clouds and treetops.  Impending storms always seem to make the light glow and these trees look so bright.  As soon as I snapped this, I got rather wet as I had forgotten an umberella! A pretty two tone seed. Someone had left a spade in the volleyball court. Massive sheet of safety glass and me. The cloud factory. School field day. The sunflowers are 5cm tall. I hope this week has started well for you, let’s see what it brings.  Happy Monday!

Weekly photos 17/52

It has been a week of sunshine, a school concert, seed planting and a new shower!  We can’t use it yet because it would be a wet disaster, but when the bathroom is tiled, it will be the best! There are flowers everywhere I look, from dandelions to flocks of daffodils, all so pretty! We dragged out the Swingball which is in desperate need of a new ball at the end of it’s string!  The dog has nearly bitten our’s in half.  We can still whack it, but I am afraid it will fly into two pieces very soon. I caught these reflections on a local bridge when I was getting some photos for Through the Lens Thursday this week. To the Middle School band concert we go.  I am wearing my lovely new Bohemian Trader‘s scarf which I love so much! A tree on a hill to finish this week’s collection. Do you have exciting plans this week?  I have a card to make for a card exchange (post coming, got to make …

Through The Lens Thursday 17. Water

It is Through the Lens Thursday today and the prompt is ‘Water’.  It is supposed to rain later today which I was going to wait for, but in the meantime I popped down to the creek to see what I could see. I wandered around for a few minutes checking out the rather low flowing water.  I  snapped some reflections and tried to work out how to get the water in focus as it danced about infront of me (one of the reasons I love this challenge, having to figure out new settings and understand my camera better). As I turned to walk back along the edge of the water, a flower seedhead floated down towards me and it was the prettiest thing gently gliding along in the water. It soon came to rest next to a rock letting me get a photo before it moved on down the creek. The sun was bobbing about in the water under the bridge (last photo), so I took his picture. I am sure I will still …

Through The Lens Thursday 16. Together

I am hiding out in the library sitting on a nice squishy chair with a little round table to write on and keep the books I have already chosen to check out. We are fully into the Spiderwick Chronicles, so I have book 2 ‘The Seeing Stone’ and a couple of Tony DiTerlizzi books to have a look at too. My house is full of the noise of a bathroom being re-done – drilling, crashing and some swearing. So here I am in the lovely library putting together my Through The Lens Thursday post. This week was ‘Together’, and as I gathered my mid morning frothy coffee equipment, I thought they were the perfect ‘together’. I make the coffee in a Chemex, froth up the milk in my metal frother thingy and serve it in my favourite coffee cup. Ta da! Do you have specific mugs or cups for tea or coffee? I totally do, some of my mugs I would never drink tea from and some would never contain coffee! For instance, I would …

Through the Lens Thursday and Ten on the 10th April 2014

A lovely sunny day for Ten on the 10th this month, so I thought I would snap a few pictures of the wonderful tree blossoms which are only around for a week or two before the leaves pop through and the trees are green. I do love the flowers, but they make me sneeze, not really bad allergies, just enough to be inconvenient! Looking back on April 2013 Ten on the 10th, Spring is a little behind this year, but as long as we get a Spring and Summer doesn’t come too early to heat us all up, I am not complaining. I have taken the photos on the Canon and my iPhone.   Lots and lots of tree blossom! My Through the Lens Thursday offering.  The prompt today was ‘Books’, so I took a photo of my cook books.  I had to use the tripod to get this as the books are in a dim corner. The last photos are taken on my phone.  I saw this sign in the road, so of course …

Weekly Photos 14/52

Last week really saw the trees starting to bloom and we had our first tornado warning trip to the basement.  Lots of rain, wind and hail and a tornado touched down about three miles from here, yikes! The garden is getting planted and we bought and build a composter which is totally encouraging everyone to eat veggies just so we can compost the peelings!     Here’s to a happy sunny week ahead!  Do you have a weekly photo round-up?  Share in the comments!  I am linking up with Em at The Beetle Shack for her Weekly Stills collection.

Weekly Photos 13/52

A chilly Spring break was had last week, we had a couple of trips out around St Louis and a nice time was had.  We came across a couple more 250 year Birthday cakes for St Louis, which really is a baby city age!  I do like all the cakes though, good idea.  I wonder how many we will see?  So far we have clocked about 8!  There will be 250 cakes in total by the end of the year all over St Louis and the surrounding area to celebrate 250 years of St Louis. We caught the train into the city and went to the Soldier’s Memorial and visited the City Museum.  The highlight of the trip for me was the hippo atop a neighbouring building and the life-size manatee sculpture also in a neighbouring building.  The manatee is suspended from a ceiling and can be seen through very dirty city windows, which is my excuse for the bad photo.  I had to photo him though, …
