The August Break Part 2

I know, I know, it is the end of September, the very end, the last day, the 30th and here I am still babbling on about August.  No, I am not stuck in some time warp or summer longing (heck no, I am loving the chilly nights and mornings), I used a 35mm vintage Minolta camera to take my August Break photos so therefore I had to get them developed and before that I had to finish the film.  The first part/film of my August Break photos are written about here. I finished the picture taking and I snapped a few extra to finish the film and then I took it to be developed and then, I forgot.  But then I remembered again and I picked out my favorites and ignored the out of focus ones.   Day 18.  Look Up. It was a stormy day and I snapped a picture of the cloudy dark sky before the clouds dropped all of their stored rain at the end of a hot August day. Day 19. Sweet …

The August Break Part One.

The August Break is the brainchild of the fabulous Susannah Conway and gives bloggers (and anyone else of course!) the opportunity to take lots of cool photos in August following daily prompts.  This August I decided to take the photos with my film camera, so I couldn’t slap them onto Instagram every day, I took the photos best I could and hoped that some of them would be successful in print. 1. Breakfast.  I am not sure why I have to take every photo at a funky angle.  First thing I have to do with digital photos is straighten them! 2. Air. Numbers.  I took one photo for numbers and as I walked away I saw this ticket on the floor and snapped it. 5. Citrus.  Lemons. 6. Notebook.  Some of my current notebooks, I mainly use the big one, the others hang out …

The August break, joining in with film photos.

I am joining in with Susannah Conway this year again and taking a photo a day for The August Break. There are daily prompts which can be taken on whichever camera you may choose. I am lucky enough to have a Minolta 35mm camera from 1980 something, so I am planning to take each photo with that. So unless I also take a digital picture too, I won’t be posting everyday until I get the film developed. Hopefully I will snap other photos with my camera along the way, and use up the film so that I can get them printed a couple of times during August and see what I came up with. Will I get a serious case of ‘fear of missing out’ if I don’t post an Instagram August Break picture daily? Maybe, but I think I will just stick to the film camera and see how they come out. Hopefully not all out of focus or wrongly exposed. Just think, this is how we took all photos only a few years …
